Mission: Supports and encourages intercultural understanding and educational excellence.
Vision: Giving to Educate the World
Purposes:
1. Support and encourage intercultural understanding
2. Encourage standards of excellence in education
3. Assist and cooperate with schools, colleges, universities and other persons, organizations, trust funds, or foundations in support,
encouragement, and improvement of education
Contributions from the Society, members, chapters, and friends provide funds. Gifts to the Educational Foundation are welcome at any time and are tax deductible in the United States.
The educational Foundation has awarded over $4 million to groups or individuals for projects to benefit children and education. Lists of projects are listed on the web. Any project leader may apply. Go to dkgef.org for additional information.
Members can also find information for receiving individual awards from the Lucile Cornetet fund at this website. Awards will fund participation in conferences, seminars, lecture series, national certification, online courses, workshops and other non-degree programs. Awards may fund travel, lodging, meals, pay for substitutes, registration fees, etc. But you must apply to be considered so go to dkgef.org and apply to be a recipient.
Two Wyoming members received $1,000 50th Anniversary Awards
The Educational Foundation announced that 50 $1,000 awards would be given to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Yvonne Gatley from Kappa Chapter and Patricia Uraskey, Upsilon Chapter heard the news, applied, and received 50th Anniversary Awards. The winners were announced during the July International Convention in Indianapolis. Yvonne received her award for a program called Traveling the World with Books at her school and Patricia will use her award for color graphing calculators at East High School. Congratulations! Fifty were awarded and Wyoming members received two of them.
